ITE, a leading organiser of trade exhibitions specialising in emerging markets, recently announced its acquisition of Siberian Fair, the largest exhibition organiser in Siberia and owner of the region’s only major exhibition centre, the Siberian Fair International Exhibition Centre in Novosibirsk.
The deal adds over 30 events to ITE’s extensive portfolio, including an exhibition dedicated to the mining industry, ‘SibMining’. The show will be held alongside ‘Geo-Siberia 2009’- the 5th international specialised exhibition and scientific congress for the fields of geodesy, cartography, geology, geophysics, land development and registry, GIS-technologies and mining. In 2008, both events welcomed over 300 companies from sixteen CIS and Eastern European countries.
Siberia’s extraordinary wealth of oil, natural gas, coal, and one the world’s largest producers of gold, lead, nickel, gypsum and zinc make the region highly attractive for foreign investment and international mining projects.
The ‘SibMining & Geo-Siberia’ exhibitions provide a great platform to facilitate these projects, as Event Manager, Anna Aleinikova, explains: “I have been working on our mining events in Moscow, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan for many years and I am delighted that we can now offer our customers the opportunity to introduce their products to the eastern region of Russia. A large number of customers have already shown interest in exhibiting at SibMining, as the international mining industry professionals recognise the potential of the region. I look forward to welcoming our exhibitors to Siberia this spring!”
